MAGGIE VALLEY and AREA ATTRACTIONS

The Mountains of Western North Carolina abound with more to do than you can manage to complete in one vacation.  Although many, many activities are provided free by Mother Nature, sometimes we need a little help keeping us entertained.   The links below will take you to places that may cost a little, but most of them are definitely worth the price.

If you're on a tight budget, we've provided plenty of links to free and less expensive places on other  pages. When you stay in Maggie Valley and the Abbey Inn, you're in the center of it all.

2. The Stompin'Grounds, also known as the Clogging Capitol's Hall of Fame is located in Maggie Valley.  Clogging originated in these mountains when Scottish immigrants brought their culture with them from their homeland.  This dance has gained national popularity and is now performed all over the states. At the end of every October the regional champions come to the Stompin' Grounds and compete for National Championship.  The event is open to the public, and well worth the price of a ticket.
