The Blue Ridge Parkway consists of 469 miles of some of the most beautiful country ever created. It starts at Shenandoah, Virginia, and ends at the eastern entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Maggie Valley, North Carolina. This link takes you on a mile-by-mile review of the Parkway, tells of scenery, ranger stations, food, on-Parkway attractions, etc. along its many miles. It's loaded with useful information for the traveller, and is a must if you plan to do it all. Remember,there are no service stations on the Parkway, so keep an eye on your gas tank.
