Turn left out of our driveway and go 2 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Go south on the Blue Ridge Parkway towards the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. At the end of the Parkway, turn right and go across the Park and turn left on Little River Road at the Sugarlands Visitors Center. Little River Road ends at Cades Cove, an 11 mile one-way loop through the valley. Go to the top of the loop, and just past the Cades Cove Visitors Center, turn right on Parson's Branch Road. This is an 8 mile one-way twisty gravel road that goes both up and down as well as round and round, crossing the same creek several times. Parsons Branch Road ends at US Hwy 129, also known as the Dragon's Tail. Turn left on 129, and go through Deal's Gap. You can either stay on 129 to US 19, or veer left onto 20 and go past Fontana Dam and continue on to US 19. Turn left on US 19 and make your way back to the Abbey Inn.
