There are numerous hiking,backpacking, and biking trails within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Some are short and easy, some are long and difficult. Some can be hiked in an hour, others take days. The Chimneys, which is an area about an hour's drive from Maggie Valley and the Abbey Innis a nice family hike where you can take a picnic lunch for after your walk. Remember to always keep an eye out, there is lots of wildlife roaming around; fox, wolves, deer, and the bears which are often seen during early morning and dusk.
